Me: (to waiter) I'll have the lobster burrito, and I'll take the chile verde on the side.
Ash: I'll have the enchilada combo.
Me: I hate chile verde...
Ash: Me too.
Me: Does anyone like chile verde?
Ash: I don't think so. It's the mexican mistake.
Posted by robyn at septembre 24, 2003 06:31 PMMy parents have eaten chile verde at every Mexican food restaurant in the east bay. I'm not a huge fan, but nothing beats the *chicken* (so uncommon!) chile verde quesadillas at Cancun on Allston in Berkeley.
Posted by: cody at septembre 24, 2003 07:09 PMthe guy in the bee suit, okay. and even polka music(I guess it was a german mistake, really). Tijuana, alright. but I'm going to have to disagree with the assertion that chile verde was a mistake.
maybe I just miss mexican food already.
Sung in a sing-songy way:
"Let's go chile verd-e, let's go chile verd-e!"
Well, I actually can't say anything one way or the other. I don't know that it's necessarily *the* Mexican mistake.
But I don't really like chiles. Or things that are green. And that's, well, that's chile verde for you. Hmmm.
Posted by: kati at septembre 30, 2003 03:14 PMOh waah, you're stuck in Greece with baklava!
Dave, your honey was awesome, and was so was your song on my message machine! I feel loved.
i like chile verde. but then again, that's what my mom calls me, "the mexican mistake."
Posted by: kt at octobre 11, 2003 04:23 PMI don't know about chile verde--I doubt I've ever even had it. But I've always been of the opinion that the Mexicans were most mistaken in their "look".
